Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026 Site: kollazmoney.com

This page explains, in plain language, what personal information is collected when you use this site, on what basis, for what purposes, and what your rights are, including under Québec's Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector).

This policy is a reasonable-efforts statement from a small Canadian publisher. It is not legal advice.

1. Who we are and who is responsible

This site is operated by KOLLAZ ("we"), an Ottawa, Ontario based publisher of personal-finance articles and the Kollaz Etsy shop.

Person responsible for the protection of personal information (Law 25, s. 3.1): Valentin Iosif Email: privacy@kollaztoolz.com

For any question about your personal information, write to the address above.

2. What we collect, and on what basis

If you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner, Google Analytics 4 collects pseudonymous technical data: pages viewed, how far you scroll on articles, and clicks on this site, including clicks out to Etsy (see section 2.2), along with device type, browser, and approximate city. Your IP address is used to estimate that city and is not stored by Google Analytics. Purpose: understanding which articles readers find useful, how much of them they read, and which tools they click, so we can improve the site.

The Google Analytics tag is present on every page, but it runs in a denied state until you choose: it sets no analytics cookies and records nothing unless you accept. If you refuse or make no choice, nothing is measured. We never see your name or email address in these statistics.

You can also opt out in your browser at any time with Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

With the same consent, clicks to etsy.com (shop and product pages) are recorded in Google Analytics as events, together with which guide you were reading, which placement on the page produced the click, and which product listing was clicked. Purpose: measuring reader interest in our tools. No identifying data is attached; the record is part of the pseudonymous analytics data in section 2.1.

2.3 Necessary cookies and hosting

This site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. The site itself sets no platform cookies. The only always-on cookie is the consent record described in section 2.4. Cloudflare may process technical data, such as your IP address, browser details, pages requested, and timestamps, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Our own consent banner stores your choice (accept, refuse, or customize) in a first-party technical cookie so you are not asked on every visit. This cookie is the proof of your consent and is kept for 12 months.

2.5 Newsletter (planned launch)

The signup form will ask for your email address (and optional first name) to send the requested free resource, a short welcome sequence, and occasional emails. Legal basis: your express opt-in, the box will be ticked by you, never pre-ticked. Every email carries an immediate unsubscribe link.

2.6 Etsy purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Etsy, under its own privacy policy. We receive from Etsy only what is needed to fulfill the order (Etsy username, transaction email). We never see your payment details.

2.7 The calculator

Our free calculator, the Second Income Reality Check, runs on its own page with no analytics at all, and the numbers you type there never leave your device.

3. Cookies, the detail

Manage your choices at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer:
